Nice day with Oldest Brother

silver_chipmunkFirst we ran some errands, and then we went to the Queens Botanical Garden for the day. Saw a lot of stuff, including some birds of prey (too far away to identify), a lot of other birds, including robins, cardinals, and blue jays, a water rat swimming in a stream,squirrels, and a large white and black rabbit that was obviously someone's abandoned pet, poor thing.
After that we went to dinner at the diner in Whitestone, which I paid for as my thank you for Oldest Brother taking care of the cats while I was at SHareCon. Then we came back here and puttered on the computer, and I read out loud from The Glass Harmonica.
A very nice day all around, texted with The Kid to wish her happy Halloween and good luck with her party.
