Family Day

Oldest Brother and I took Middle Brother out to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 today. First Oldest Brother picked Middle Brother up from his group home, then they got me, and we went to Bay Terrace, making a stop first at Rite Aid to ask for a refill on my prescriptions, and a quick stop at bath and body Works for more scent refills for the wallflower in my bathroom.
The movie was a lot of fun, and I really liked the music. I guess they're planning on a third, too. Saw some interesting trailers for upcoming films, but none that I'll probably want to see myself except for the next Star Wars movie.
After the movie we ate at Five Guys as usual, though not the one in College Point, there's one right there in Bay Terrace. They were as good as always, and that was dinner I'm not bothering to eat anything else.
Came home, picking up my scrips on the way and doing some other quick shopping at Rite Aid, and was dropped off just in time for the FWiB to call. We had a nice conversation but he got off early, after only an hour, because of the fatigue. After he got off, I texted
mashfanficchick to see if she was doing anything this weekend, we might do something tomorrow. And oldest Brother called to say he got in safely after dropping off Middle Brother.
Then The Kid called. She and the SIL did go up to the cottage, and had just arrived. Sad to say the rose-of-Sharon tree in back that was almost dead last year is now entirely gone. I feel sad, because it was there for so long and in it's glory days it was so beautiful, attracting so many hummingbirds. And Grandpa was so fond of it. But it was very old for a rose-of-Sharon.
I spent the rest of the evening reading. I finished Heartbreak Hotel last night, so I started something new, one of the books I got up at The Kid's, a book of three short Mercedes Lackey stories. I forget the title. It's typical Lackey, mental popcorn, but fun.
The Kid just called again now. She found a very large toad, and a smaller frog, in the parking lot of Tops where they went to do some shopping, and after gently moving them to a safer place she wanted to tell me about it.
Gratitude List:
1. The Kid.
2. Oldest and Middle Brothers.
3. The cottage.
4. Seeing a big toad.
5. The FWiB.
6. Fun movie.
Edited to add, The Kid just called back. There was a family of squirrels living in the upstairs front bedroom!!!! They are currently engaged in shooing them out.
