Happy Mother's Day (belated)

Spent it with mashfanficchick and her mother. I got her mother a card and a $10 Dunkin' Donuts gift card as a thank you for everything she does.

We watched Goldfinger, which I had never seen before, but enjoyed, and Iron Man, which I had seen before, but was happy to see again.

Then mashfanficchick made Indian food for dinner, which was delicious.

The Kid called and we spoke briefly. I am going up there this weekend. Yay!

Didn't call the FWiB but kept in touch through e-mail.

Christie the Turtle looks better today, but I'm calling the vet for a referral tomorrow anyway.

I hope the vet can do something to help Christie regain or maintain her health, whichever the case may be. I find the idea of vets for turtles very odd. What with the majority of their bodies being inside their shells, is there much a vet can do? I suppose blood tests are possible and fixing things like broken legs (do turtles' legs ever break?). Is it possible to hear a turtle's heart even with a stethoscope?

I think they probably rely heavily on x-rays and blood tests. When i was still with my now ex-husband, the turtle was sick. My ex was (Iassume still is) a veterinary technician. He researched respertory infections in turtles and we injected her with antibiotics until she recovered.
