So I got up at 5:00 this morning, ate breakfast, showered, fed the cats and turtle and left the cats extra food and water, and met up with

mashfanficchick and her mother, who drove me to the Port Authority, stopping at Starbucks first. I had a little trouble finding my gate, but not much, and I got there in well enough time.

The route the bus took went through Pennsylvania. Intellectually I knew perfectly well I was on the right bus, but emotionally I kept going"Why are we still in Pennsylvania? I'm on the wrong bus! Oh noooo, I'm going to end up in Scranton!" Which didn't happen of course. I calmed myself down by putting on Google maps and seeing how the route we were taking lead straight to Syracuse.

Anyway, the funniest thing happened, Denise texted me to say they would be a little late picking me up at the bus terminal, and I replied that it was OK because we were still a little ways away anyway. "Are you on a Grayhound bus?" she asked. "Yes." "Are you sitting on the right or the left side?" "Left, drivers side." "Look out your window." So I did, and sure enough, there they were. They spotted me in my window seat, and we waved, laughing. You wouldn't believe it could happen in real life. Anyway, they passed us, and by the time the bus made the terminal, they were parked and waiting for me.

So I got my luggage out of the luggage compartment, and they drove me to my hotel. It's a really nice hotel, with a swimming pool, and free breakfast tomorrow. My room is very large, and the bed is a king.

So I checked in and unpacked, and set up my computer, and then tried to take a nap, with no success. So at 5:30 I went to the Cracker Barrel restaurant across the parking lot from the hotel. And just as I was seated and had ordered, Denise called, and said they had been in the mall in the area, and the upshot was they joined me and we had dinner together. So that was nice.

After dinner they drove me back to the hotel, and I Skyped the FWiB. And we had a nice talk, and then after we got off I went down and swam in the swimming pool.

And that's about all. I guess I'll read a little bit before bed, but I'm not staying up too late. Getting up tomorrow at 8:30 to make it to breakfast.
