Labor day weekend day 1

silver_chipmunkGot up in time to get to the Saturday meeting I haven't been to in months. There were familiar faces there, which was nice. Good meeting.
After that I came home and waited for Oldest Brother. When he got here, he helped me change the dead light bulb in my living room ceiling light. I need someone to spot me on the ladder and take things from me.
Then we tried to use the old syphon that had been The Kid's, to empty the turtle tank. It didn't work. So we gave up on that and I did some stuff around the house, getting the garbage ready to take out, and then we took that out and drove to Petco, where I got a new syphon.
Then we went to lunch at Sakura, which is Japanese fast food, and quite tasty. Then we went shopping at Stop and Shop, and came back here.
Used the new syphon, which worked very well, and we drained the tank and refilled it. It looks much better now, and I think the turtle is happier.
After that we looked at stuff on facebook, until he took a nap and I called the FWiB. We had a nice talk.
Then we went out for dinner, picking up the cottage laundry first. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings, and then to Carvel for dessert.
And that was my day, a combination of fun and getting stuff done.
