Day of meetings

silver_chipmunkEven though it was my day off, I went to a work meeting in Manhattan this morning. I get comp time for it, which is nice, and the meeting itself was OK, some parts were very interesting. Got a shock when I woke up an hour and 20 minutes after my alarm was supposed to have gone off, and discovered I had forgotten to turn it on after I set it last night. But I made it to the meeting on time anyway, thanks to taking an abbreviated shower, getting a bus almost immediately after I got to the stop, and getting an express train rather than a local.
After the meeting I puttered around the general area for awhile, went to Pret a Manger to eat, and went to Jack's 99 Cent store, which sadly is not as good as it used to be.
Came home and took a short nap, then got up and Skyped the FWiB. He couldn't talk long though because he had to go to dinner, but it was nice.
After he got off I did my on-line stuff, reading here, and the ship, and the other places I go on-line. Then I went out to my Friday meeting. As usual I ate at Boston Market first, and then went to the meeting, which was very good tonight. A larger than usual number of people there.
Came home and here I am.
Gratitude List:
1. Made the morning meeting on time.
2. The FWiB.
3. My meetings and the people there.
4. Extra people tonight.
5. Made the bus coming home (it was a near thing)
6. My turtle, who is currently chowing down on spinach.
