Queens Botanical Gardens

silver_chipmunkI got up today and went showered and got dressed and did breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts. Came back and puttered on the computer for awhile, waiting for the FWiB. I was hoping to be able to Skype before I left for the Gardens, but that didn't happen.
So I brought my earbuds with me and went to the Queens Botanical gardens. It's only $6 to get in, and a lovely place for a walk. It's not very big, so it doesn't take to long to cover the whole place.
I walked around, got ice cream from the gift shop, and then went into the meadow area, sat down under a comfy tree, and Skyped the FWiB from there. We had a nice conversation, and after we ended I lay back on the grass for awhile and just spaced.
Then I went back to the gift shop and got something to drink, and bought a mug as a souvenir. It says "advice from a turtle". Very cute.
Came home and used my new mug to make a cup of hot chocolate with spiced rum. Very tasty. Then I got on shopgoodwill.com and won some auctions. I got on the glassware listings and picked up some animal figurines. Also a silver bangle bracelet.
Then I texted the Kid about the auctions (they're addictive! It's all her fault!) and we had a text conversation.
And thenmashfanficchick called and asked did I want to go to dinner with them? Of course yes, so they picked me up and we went to Ruby Tuesday, where I ate a huge plate of their salad bar.
And then they brought me home, and that's the day.
