Monday all day

I shouldn't say that, it was a pretty decent day, mostly. I made it to work on time, just barely making the bus. Went and read at the nursing home.

I found out my boss removed one chair from each of the teen tables to try and control them. She didn't consult with me or even tell me about it, I overheard her talking to a kid about it, and that's how I found out. I am somewhat annoyed at this. But I did the gaming program with the teens and got about 10.

After work I Skyped with the FWiB. madhfanficchick cancelled the plans we had, because she was tired, and the weather, so I just came home and Skyped the FWiB again. I meant to take my laundry down, but the weather discouraged me too, and I didn't.

And that's about it. Tomorrow I have to be at work early because I have a class at 10.

I have to ask what FWiB stands for?

FWiB stands for Friend With Benefits. Though he's not really exactly that any more. Long story short, after my husband left me, a very old friend made a proposal to me. Seems his wife, who he loves very much, had always been sort of asexual, though she made an effort. But some years before, she had finally made an ultimatum that she wasn't going to do it any more. So he had said he wasn't going to live like a monk, and they reached an agreement that he could take a lover if he was discrete and didn't shove it in her face. We had always had a sort of mutual attraction, so when he found out I was single again, he suggested we hook up on a regular basis. So for several years we met about once a month for a good time. Which turned out to suit me just fine. And the inevitable happened and we fell in love, though he still very much loves his wife too.

Then a lot of stuff happened, starting with him having to retire early because of a mistake he made, and library politics. And then because of retiring early meaning a reduced pension, they moved several states away (Ohio) for financial reasons, so our physical relationship had to end. And then it turned out that unknown to me, he had a serious drinking problem, which only got worse, and he ended up in a nursing home in a total mental and physical collapse.

He's recovered mostly now, and is out of the nursing home into independent living, and he says he'll never drink again. So we talk every day as you've noticed, and I went and visited him last year, and I have plans to visit next year too.

So that's the explanation of the FWiB.
