First day of vacation

silver_chipmunkI was on the phone late with the Kid last night so I slept til 12:30. Got woken up by my new charger for my camera being delivered.
Got up, dressed, and took my bag of old shoes and two bags of recycling out. Then I went to the mail box and mailed the three letters I wrote yesterday. Finally I went to the bagel shop and got a bacon, egg, and cheese for brunch.
Came back and checked the mail. Discovered that my apartment management company is asking for a rent increase of $25 and change a room, not counting bathrooms, on account of the roof and parapet repair. Just what I needed.
Went and read for awhile. Then Skyped the FWiB for an hour.
After that I decided to download the photos from my phone to the computer. I messed up, moved them entirely from the phone, and instead of sending them (and there are a LOT of them) to the folder I had set up, I sent them to the general pictures folder. So I had to move them all, and it was a PAIN. At some point I am going to have to sort them into their own folders by subject.
Then I had dinner and ice cream. And after I was done, I took the big step of getting out the discs of pictures that I had saved from the old computer back many years ago in College Point that my then husband reformatted. I lost all my pictures, but I got an app that restores lost pictures and filled two CDs with what I got. Then I put the CDs away and was too afraid to look at them for all these years.
Finally today I took one of them and tried viewing the pics. I had a hell of a time. So I decided to simplify matters by saving them en mass to my external drive. It took an extremely long time, but it (mostly) worked. Some of them refused to download, and some were mutilated, but they are THERE!
All this time I've been talking to the Kid. She is feeling down.
Talked to Oldest Brother. He's fine, though tired after working last night and today.
Goingto go into the bedroom after I finish here.
