Doctor day

Today was the day that I went to the oncologist for my blood tests. And i was right, I met with the doctor and she told me the next steps.

The blood tests were good, and she put me on an estrogen inhibitor, Anastrozole. I think I'll be on that for five years, but we'll see. She is also sending me for a bone density test, so I'll have to call and make that appointment tomorrow. And I have to go back in three weeks and have the port flushed.

mashfanficchick and zer mother took me as usual, and we went for Thai food for lunch after. Then they brought me home, but when the pharmacy contacted me that the prescription was ready, they were out in Flushing anyway for another reason, so they picked them up and brought them to me. So I can start tonight.

Aside from that, I puttered on the computer, and then Skyped the FWiB. Then I had my Al-anon meeting by Zoom. That went quite well.

After that I made a program call, and then had some cheese and crackers for an evening snack. Then I called Oldest Brother for the third time, and then the Kid. The Kid is moving forward in her business plans.

And that's about all there is to say, after this I'm going to bed and maybe read a bit.

I guess because I've been away from Dreamwidth, I missed the news that you were receiving chemo treatment. I hope it's been relatively gentle on you, and send you my strongest energy for a positive outcome.

Thanks. It hasn't been too bad. I lost my hair of course, but it's growing back now. It's coming in mostly white though, which is a bit depressing, but better than no hair at all. I didn't have too many other side effects, thankfully.

My hair has yet to start growing back, but my chemo was also pretty brutal, so I can't help but wonder if the hair is going to take a little longer. I don't really care what color it is, coming back, so long as something comes back. I'm not really digging the "cueball" look.

I had two different rounds of chemo, the first was the heavy-duty stuff when my hair fell out. The second was lighter but longer, Taxol, and that's when it started growing back, so it's been awhile it's been coming back now.

I saw your post about your pneumonia, I hope you are feeling better soon.
