Didn't get up early enough to go to the optional BBFT cafe meeting today but I finally got up, breakfasted, and had coffee in time to shower and dress and get picked up by [personal profile] mashfanficchick and zer mother to go to my doctor visit.

Because the building in Lake Success is closed because of some maintenance issue, we had to go out to Uniondale. The results of the visit were mixed: I lost weight, now I know my scales is basically accurate, I'm down to 194, which is a considerable drop. The doctor was pleased. But, while most of my blood tests were good, my cholesterol was so bad he put me on medication for it. And I've crossed the line from prediabetic to diabetic, though not so badly he put me on medication for it. We're going to try to manage it through diet. Which means cut the carbs and sweets. And I have to go for blood tests again, and go back in two months.

So after I finished with the doctor, we went to lunch. We got poke which I hope was low carb, I'm going to have to do some research.

After lunch we did some shopping, though I didn't get anything. And we went to Starbucks where I got a sugar-free, low fat very tasty vanilla iced cappuccino. Then we did some more shopping, and finally went to my pharmacy where I picked up my medication, and there was no co-pay for it!

They brought me home where I put in a Shipt order, and I called Oldest Brother for the second time, then Skyped the FWiB. We got done when I had to start my Al-anon meeting. That was small but quite good.

The Shipt order was delivered almost immediately after the meeting ended, perfect timing. I put it away, read online, and was just going to call Oldest Brother for the third time when the Kid called me. We had a nice conversation, they are getting very close to being able to open the coffee shop.

Then I called Oldest Brother, and had dinner, and played solitaire until it was time to feed the pets.

And now here I am. And I am trying not to mention the shooting in Texas, but I can't help doing so. God have mercy.

I'm not so good with it now, but I met with a nutritionist about a low-car eating plan and was pretty good about it for a while. I'm happy to share the forms she gave me. Did the doctor tell you how many carbs you should shoot for? My nutritionist allowed me 3-carb servings per meal (that's 45 grams) and 1-per snack, along with a protein to make the absorption more level. It actually allows you quite a lot of food. Good luck with the new eating plan!
