Interesting day
Sep. 13th, 2022 10:22 pmIn the sense of the curse... "May you live in interesting times".
The day started badly, missing the early bus literally by seconds. It pulled away as I ran up. So shouldn't have been a problem, the next bus is the regular one I try to take and it gets me there on time. Except it was late, so I was late. I jumped into the BBFT meeting, and that was good.
Then at lunch I went out and walked to a real estate office, and sure enough they had a notary. So I got my paperwork notarized, which was good.
There was a facilities meeting in the community room until 2:38, and my YA program was at 3:00, so I was worried they wouldn't leave on time, but, as i said, they did. The program worked out very well, 11 kids, all behaving themselves and engaged in the things I had on offer... and the AD chose that time to come and visit the branch, so that was great, he got to see me at my best.
So after, I cleaned up and went to take my break... and Mr. Torres came and told me that the disturbed woman we had officially barred, showed up in the branch. She went in the public restroom and we could hear her ranting to herself. So I called the appropriate person and told him, and he said to wait 5 minutes, then tell her she had to leave and if she didn't, call the police. So I did that. She came out of the restroom on her own, and we (me and the guard) told her she had to leave. There was arguing, cursing, insane ranting, but finally when Mr. Torres started calling 911 she left. I wrote an incident report, and thankfully that was that.
The remainder of the day passed peacefully thank goodness. When I got home, I called Oldest Brother for the second time, and then Skyped the FWiB. Then I had my Al-anon meeting by Zoom, which was good, It was one person's very first meeting, so I did a little Beginners stuff.
Then I puttered online till 9:00 when I called Oldest Brother again, and then had dinner. Then I called the Kid, who was sleepy.
I looked up the final bit of information I needed for my paperwork, my NYSERS ID number, and my paperwork is now done and tomorrow I can submit it.
So that was my day.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. The AD saw me working successfully.
3. The patron left without the police.
4. Bed soon.
5. The Kid is doing well.
6. My paperwork is done.
