IKEA Assembly
Sep. 18th, 2022 10:12 pmIkea should get their act together about when their shipments are delivered. Yesterday I got the notification that the bookcase would be delivered between 11 am and 3 pm. Fine, I set my alarm for 10 and went to bed happy.
At 8-something I woke up and went to use the bathroom, then checked my phone, and discovered there had been another message at 2:30 am saying it would be delivered between 8 am and 9 am. So of course I stayed awake at that point. Later I got another saying between 11 and 3 again, then 9 am and 9 pm, and then 11 and 3 again.
It was finally delivered around 1:15. Of course the FWiB was having trouble with his email all this time, so I didn't have him to chatter to while I was waiting. But anyway, at that point I started the assembly.
It was tiring but not too difficult, and eventually I got it put together and moved into the bedroom (I had to assemble it in the living room due to lack of space in the bedroom)
Then I Skyped the FWiB in celebration and to relax, and we talked for a nice time. When we finally got off I moved the books from my bedroom floor to the bookcase. Everything only filled a shelf and a half, no huge pile of them like last time when I put the smaller bookcase together for the living room.
To celebrate the new bookcase, I ordered from Seamless for the first time in a very long time. I got pad Thai and an Alaska sushi handroll. While I was waiting for it to be delivered I took out the Ikea box to the recycling.
The pad Thai and roll were delicious as always. Then I went to the bedroom and puttered on my phone and read on my Nook till it was time to call Middle Brother. He's fine, nothing new. But his work with the Ducks is over till next baseball season.
I killed time till I called Oldest Brother for the third time, and then I called the Kid. Nothing new with anybody.
Now I've fed the pets, and I'm going to go and read again till bedtime.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. The bookcase is assembled.
3. And I had no trouble moving it to the bedroom, which I was worried about.
4. Good books.
5. My power screwdriver.
6. Good dinner.
Edited to add: I forgot to say, I heard from
mashfanficchick, ze and zer mother are on their way home, expecting to be in around 2:00.
