Made it in on time. The first thing was the BBFT meeting which was good. Then after lunch I had the one-on-one with my boss, which was... survivable. Then I set up for my Teen Lounge program, and had that. Pretty good, about 16 kids, I lost track.

Came home and my copy of The Fur Person that I ordered from Barnes and Noble had arrived. I can't wait to read it. I haven't read it since I was a small child, it must have been one of the first grown-up books I ever read. I've never forgotten about it and recently I decided I wanted to read it as an adult. And coincidentally it's been reprinted in a facsimile of the original 1957 edition. What I didn't know at the time, that I have since found out, is that the author, May Sarton, was a lesbian, and it is in some regards a lesbian novel. In that the two people that the cat goes to live with (it's a story about the life of May Sarton's cat) are May Sarton and her partner. As I child I didn't know they were both women and I remember being quite puzzled as to which of the two people was the husband and which was the wife. My memories of the book made much more sense when I found out neither was either!

Anyway, I came home and found that, then called Oldest Brother and then Skyped the FWiB.

After we Skyped I had my Al-anon meeting, and that went very well. Then I had dinner, and lay down till it was time to feed the pets.

And now I'm trying to decide if I should read The Fur Person now, or finish For the Throne first.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Got my book.

3. The program went well.

4. My meetings and the people at them.

5. Survived the one-on-one.

6. Bed soon.
