No, we have to apply for the whole year at a time, in advance, which I know is crazy but that's how the library works it. It's because someone else has asked for that day, The thing is, I have seniority over him, which means I should get it. But I'm not going to make a fuss because he wants the whole of that week and I just want the day, so I don't want to screw him over. Still there's no reason we couldn't just both have that day since it is just one day. But like I said I won't make a fuss, I'll just take it as a Wellness day if I need it.
