I suspect they're the same thing just by a different name. As it happens, it's acknowledged by historians of fandom that Starsky and Hutch fandom had the first ones. And we maintain a tradition of them. I don't have the technological skill to do it though, or the patience to learn; I wish I did, because a good fanvid is a wonderful thing.
