Doctor visit

silver_chipmunkGot up at 9 today and had breakfast and coffee, and showered and dressed. mashfanficchick and zer mother picked me up, I was a little late, but we got to zer mother's doctor's appointment with time to spare.
While she went to the doctor,mashfanficchick and I sat on the grass and hung out waiting, which was very pleasant.
After she came out, we went to Chopt for lunch. Delicious. Then it was time for my appointment.
We reviewed my blood tests, everything is OK except I'm edging back up towards diabetes again, have to get strict with my eating again. I like the sweets and carbs too much. We talked about my foot too. After what the podiatrist said about it not healing, I want a second opinion so he gave me a referral to the podiatrist there. Unfortunately he can't see me til June 10th! Which is after the appointment I have with the original podiatrist anyway.
mashfanficchick thinks I should find an orthopedist who takes my insurance and see them on my own. But thinking about it, that's not a great idea, because they'd still need a referral, which I haven't got. So I'll probably stay with what I've got, though it's not optimal. The doctor recommended warm compresses and soaking in order to get blood to the area to encourage healing. I guess I should try that. Also the calcium and vitamin D supplements I'm already taking.
Anyway, after my appointment they brought me back home. And I spent the better part of an hour unsuccessfully trying to get through to Duane Reade to find out why my delivery today was cancelled and when I could get it done instead. I am very frustrated I was on hold for27 minutes at one point. I tried calling the manager who transferred me to the pharmacy dept which did not answer their phone. Maybe the phone is out of order. I'll try again tomorrow.
Then I gave up and lay down and played solitaire for awhile until it was 7 and I Skyped the FWiB. We talked until my meeting at 8.
The meeting was good, and afterward I had dinner, then lay down again til pet feeding time.
The FWiB called on the phone a little while ago, his internet crashed and hasn't come back up yet. Hopefully it will by tomorrow! He doesn't have a smart phone with email, so his internet connection is the only thing connecting us!
And that was my day. Tomorrow is the Kid's birthday, hopefully I'll be able to talk to her to wish her happy birthday. She'll be 34!!
