Disappointment

silver_chipmunkGot up this morning earlier than usual, around 10:30. Today I was supposed to be having dinner with the Kid and her boyfriend.
I had breakfast and coffee, and puttered online. The Kid texted me with the name and website of the restaurant we were going to. I showered, washed my hair, and dressed. I switched stuff into my good purse.
I took the old air mattress from the living room out to the garbage, and walked around the block, and then took out two empty boxes. I didn't walk around the block again though because I discovered that the sidewalk around the corner was being worked on.
I puttered online a lot more to kill time. Finally at 5:00 I left the house. I took the bus to Flushing, went to the bank, and then to Duane Reade to pick up one prescription and get another filled.
*sigh* While I was getting the first one, the Kid texted me and phoned too, that she didn't feel well and could we put dinner off til next week? Of course I said yes. She might have covid, she was going to take a test. So I filled the other prescription, and came back home. At least she got me before I got on the train.
So that was a disappointment. I got home, put the meds away, had a snack, changed my shirt. By then it was after 6:00, so I puttered around, and then at 7:00 Skyped the FWiB.
We talked til 8:30. Then I called Middle Brother. He went out yesterday and got a copy of Horton Hears a Who at Walmart. So he's happy.
I had my dinner, and then went and lay down and played solitaire and scrolled Facebook til pet feeding time.
Now I'll go and read, I guess.
