In to Olcott

silver_chipmunkAfter breakfast and coffee, and showering and dressing, I wandered over to Linda and Alan's cottage to hang for awhile. Had a nice time talking, and then Betsy dropped in and we talked some more.
Betsy was going to go to a winery to get some wine, and offered to drop me in Olcott. I said yes. Then she decided she'd come to Olcott too, and we should go to the winery first. I asked if they had mead, which I prefer to wine, and she said no, but a winery that we'd pass did, and we could stop and I could get some.
So that's what we did. First we went to the Black Willow winery which sells mead, and which I have ordered mead from in the past, and actually went to with the Kid when we were up here together (with her now ex husband). So that was nice, and I bought a nice bottle of mead. Then we went on to the other winery and Betsy bought a bottle of wine.
Then we went back to Olcott. It was crowded, it was Old Olcott Days. I got an ice cream cone, Perry's ice cream of course. Blackberry cheesecake something. Very yummy. We walked around a bit, and I used the most expensive ATM I ever used. Seriously... $4. They were playing hurdy gurdies in the gazebo, and Betsy sat down to watch while I walked around the little shoppes. I went in a couple of places, didn't stay long.
I joined up with Bestsy again and we came back to Outing Park. Then Betsy and I went down to the beach. She went swimming but I just sat on the shore and let the lake wash over my legs.
After awhile we came back up, and I read for awhile, and puttered on my phone, and ate a bit. I changed the light bulb in the back room which was difficult and not a little dangerous as I had to get up on a chair to reach it. I should have asked for help from either Alan or Piet but I didn't. Finally I got it done though.
Eventually it was 7:00 and I Teamed the FWiB. We talked for just about an hour and a half, and then I got off and since it was 8:30 called Middle Brother. He is fine, went swimming, and to see The Fantastic Four, and to Burger King, and Target. So he's having fun.
Then I had dinner, and my first glass of the mead, and after that I went out to see if there was anything going on, but there wasn't so I came back and lay on the couch and puttered on my phone.
And now I'm writing here. DCslash ended today, there had been a panel I wanted to go to, but it was when Betsy suggested Olcott, so I decided to do that.
Gratitude List:
