Busy day
Got up at 8:30 to get to my Al-anon meeting early because today was the anniversary. I had breakfast and coffee and showered and dressed in my Mets tee shirt and wore my Mets cap. Then I se out to the meeting.
Got there nicely early to help with the setup. Everything was very nice, there were more goodies than I think anyone expected, and I ate too much of them. Both the speakers (Al-anon and AA) were very good and I enjoyed it. The raffles afterward went well, I won two prizes, both the same, a tube of hand cream and a lip balm. But different scents/flavors.
We found the person who was responsible for the disappearance of my Bronx Zoo hat the other week, and it makes no sense. I may be able to get it back but I doubt it.
mashfanficchick called me and I talked to her briefly.
Anyway, after the anniversary I went to the diner, getting a ride as usual with S and G. I had the French onion soup, which is always delicious.
Then I took the 13 bus directly to Flushing to the subway, and the 7 train to Citifield for the Mets/Yankees game. I got there around 4:00 and the lines were pretty short, so I was assured of getting one of today's giveaways, a subway series tee shirt.
I had brought the second book in the Scholomance series by Naomi Novik, and read a little while I was waiting, Finally they let us in, I had a little trouble with the app the ticket was on, but finally it loaded and I got in and got a tee shirt.
Then I went to my seat where Larry was already, and settled in. I got dinner at 6:00 (the game started at 7:15), a hot pastrami on rye and a dill pickle. And I gave in to temptation and got ice cream, Mr. Softee twist in a miniature batting helmet, with Mets sprinkles.
The game was very exciting. And we won! 6 to 3. There were a lot of Yankee fans there too of course and there was a lot of back and fort between rival groups. Sitting next to us was a very large group who got very drunk and rowdy, which was distracting but tolerable.
After the game I rode back to Flushing with Larry, and then came home. It was pretty late by them time I got here so no Teaming the FWiB alas.
I fed the pets and put the tee shirt, books, miniature helmet and the small tangerine I think it is that I brought home from the anniversary away, and started here.
And that was the day, Very satisfying.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. The anniversary meeting went well.
3. My meetings and the people there.
4. Larry.
5. Got a tee shirt.
6. Mets won!!
