Mostly it was lovely, but there were parts that sucked. The good parts were seeing members of the family I don't get to see very often. The wedding itself was beautiful, and the reception dinner/barbecue the day before was delicious and fun. The downside? Stuff with the cottage. Betsy was snide about it as always, and Laurie was a bitch. And somehow I got assigned to take care of making an appointment with a guy to fix the roof of the living room, the kitchen floor, and a bunch of other stuff. I got a name and a number and will call him tomorrow to come inspect the cottage while I'm up there in August.

I came home Sunday rather than staying with The Kid again because she had to work Monday and it would have been a hassle getting me to the casino bus Monday. So on Sunday we drove back as far as Binghamton and she left me at the bus terminal there and I took a bus to NYC.

I got home and found everything all right. Except with [personal profile] mashfanficchick and her mother. Their car was stolen back on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. So I went over there today after breakfast (well, brunch) at Dunkin' Donuts and went out with them to the 112 precinct to correct a paperwork mistake. On the way back we stopped at Martha's Country Kitchen for snacks. I got a frozen Nutella hot chocolate.

The FWiB called while we were there and we talked. Then we started back to [personal profile] mashfanficchick's place, and after we got off the bus and started walking back... THERE WAS THEIR CAR! On the same block but other side of the street, and down at the other end of the block, but undamaged and with everything still in it!

So we celebrated with sushi, cause nothing says "The car is back" like raw fish on rice! We can't figure out what happened because although nothing was taken things had been moved in the car, and they were very sure about where they left it. So someone took it, rummaged through it, and returned it.

Anyway, they brought me home and now here I am, ready for bed.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The Kid.

3. They got their car back.

4. Friendly family.

5. Sushi.

6. Cool weather.

Left a message on his voice mail, haven't heard anything back yet. Hopefully I will tomorrow, if not I'll have to call back again.

Work was work. Nothing much to say about it really. Then after work the FWiB called, which is always a Good Thing. And I went to my meeting, which was very good and allowed me to share some of this crap.

I'm a bit worried about Bjorn, he isn't eating well. I may take him to the vet Friday.

Gratitude List:

1. My meetings and the people there.

2. Got through calling the contractor.

3. The FWiB.

4. Mango slices with lunch.

5. Cooler weather.

6. My cats.
