Celebrated the Kid's birthday

Went to work, noothing much to say about it.

After work I Skyped the FWiB, and we stayed talking while I went home, picked up the Kid's presents, and made my way to the restaurant, Akiyama.

The Kid and SIL showed up after awhile, and we went to eat. They remembered us and were very glad to see us. not glad enough to give us anything on the house, but oh well. We had sushi, and two appetizers and I gave the Kid her presents. It turns out she already had the steampunk tarot set, so I took that back. It didn't cost me anything, having for some reason turned up at work in a box of ARCs. She was glad to have the book, The Secret Pencil, and she really liked the giant microbes.

We stayed for a long time, then they took a Lyft, and I took the bus home. And that's aboout it.
