Mental Health Day

Or in other words I called in sick. I'm glad I did, too.

It was a nice relaxing day, I got up, ate breakfast and coffeed, and Skyped the FWiB. After that I basically spent the day reading. I reread most of the most recent Bujold World of Five Gods novella, Orphans of Raspay, and then I started on the previous one, Prisoner of Limnos. Sybil got on the bed with me for a good chunk of time, which was nice. Oreo seems to have a bit of a cold, he keeps sneezing, but he doesn't have any other symptoms.

I showered and dressed, and met up with mashfanficchick and her mother, and we picked up Dori and went to dinner at Chilies. Then we had dessert at Eddie's Sweet Shop, and then they brought me home.

I got a [hone call this morning from Ikea confirming my delivery tomorrow. It's supposed to be between 3 and 7, which probably means I won't make it to my meeting. And I probably won't have time to assemble it until Sunday. But I will have it.

Got texted by the Kid. She seems a bit better.

Elizabeth Warren ended her run today, which is sad. I was very strongly considering voting for her.

Busy Day with New Bookcase!

Started the day by getting up and showering and dressing, then making coffee. Had just enough time to finish before I was picked up by mashfanficchick and her mother. Then we went and picked up Dori.

They had to get a new tire for their car so we went to their tire place, where the guy told them he'd have something for them in about an hour (he was getting shipment) and he'd call them. So we went off and had lunch ta Panera. Been a long time sine I was at a Panera and it was nice to go back again.

We lingered over lunch, and then they called from the tire place. So we went back and waitd while they put the new tires, two, on. Then they drove me back to my place to wait for the Ikea delivery.

I didn't know how large the shipment would be so I cleared everything out of the hall, including the coat rack and the table. Then I settled down to wait. My window was from 3:00 to 7:00, and it was just 3:00.

I didn't have long to wait, the guy was here and gone by 3:13. And it was only one long but thin box. So I moved everything back to the hall, and then unpacked the bookcasr and put it together.

It took me a few hours, but wasn't too difficult. After I put it together I moved all the books on the floor in my bedroom out and filled it up. They just fit, with three paperbacks left over. I am going to have to get rid of some of them, there's no denying it. I have books here that belong to the Kid, too.

Anyway, by the time I was done I was exhausted. I was thinking of going to my meeting late, but just then I got a call from mashfanficchick. They had gone to Starbuscks to variously do stuff with the wifi and were just leaving. They wanted to know if I wanted to join them for dinner. S I decided to do that.

While I was waiting for them, the FWiB suggested we Skype, so we did. That was nice.

They picked me up and we went to Uncle Bill's Diner, and we stayed talking for a long time. Then we did some quick shopping in Stop and Shop. And then they brought me home.

So that was my day. Busy and tiring.
