Oldest Brother was transfered
Dec. 16th, 2020 10:09 pmHe's in the rehab now, not the one that I had first picked, which is down the street, because his insurance, which is still in effect till Medicaid cuts in in about a month, wouldn't cover that one because it was out of network. But this one is still pretty close, and seems good. It got just as good a rating.
I got called this morning to tell me he was being transferred, and again to tell me I don't actually need a health care proxy, and I can't get one anyway because he would have to fill that out himself. Got called later to be told the results of the transesophageal echocardiogram, which was negative. No clots or blockages. Which is good in and of itself, but doesn't say anything about what caused the stroke.
They closed work at 3:00 today because of the coming snow storm. So I had to cancel my poetry discussion, which was scheduled for 3:30. I got home and started making, and getting phone calls.
I spoke to the social worker at the rehab, I spoke to
mashfanficchick, I spoke to the Kid, I spoke to several people at the rehab, I spoke to John Ivon, I spoke to John, and most importantly I spoke to Oldest Brother. I think he sounds more alert than he did before, though he isn't talking much better.
Then I Skyped the FWiB, which was just what I needed.
We're closed tomorrow too, but supposed to work from home. I'll see what I can come up with.
Oh, I got the results of my Covid antibody test, negative, which is what I expected.
I made mac and cheese for dinner, and the Kid called me again. She and the Boy are taking a break for health reasons on his part, and she is very sad. And this puts our Christmas plans awry.
I don't know what is going to happen, I guess I just have to take it one day at a time.
Gratitude list:
1. The FWiB, he's keeping me sane.
2. Oldest Brother laughed at something I said today.
3. He's in a good place.
4. Work closed early.
5. Don't have to go in tomorrow.
6. Friends and family.
