Happy Mother's Day real fast

Seriously tired
May. 10th, 2021 10:10 pmGoing to bed as soon as I finish here.
So I'll start with catching up with yesterday. I left for the Kid's apartment about a half hour later than I meant to, and then she wasn't ready to go. But we had a nice visit while she got ready. She let Birb out of his cage to fly around, and that was fun. And she gave me my birthday/Mother's Day combined gifts, a hat she knitted, a headband, the wall hanging she wove, a piece or artwork from a convention, a tube of body lotion, and a bar of her home made soap. Also some paper cranes. All lovely,
Then finally we got started to the Schieffers. And hit traffic from HELL. But we finally got there, after stopping at Ace's Liquor for wine. It was weird being just the five of us, Aunt Helen gone and Oldest Brother not there. But we had a great time. We didn't do a cookout because of the weather, instead they made lasagna. Delicious.
I called Oldest Brother and we all talked to him, and later Middle Brother called me (because I forgot to call him!) and we all talked to him too.
It is so GOOD having family that we agree with on politics. I hear such horror stories of people fighting with family, and families being torn apart by disagreements, or like the FWiB and his family, having to stay at arms length and never talking about sensitive subjects, ever. But we had a wonderful time.
Anyway, at 11:30, we left. It was raining heavily, the Kid was tired, and she didn't want to risk driving alone from my place to hers, so she took me to her place, we parked and I took an UB=ber home.
And that was Mother's Day.
Today I went to work and did inventory. I called the social worker at Oldest Brother's place and tried to get to see him tomorrow. But they don't have visiting hours Tuesday. I also mentioned the problem with his phone, and the issue of getting a Power of Attorney. Hopefully those things should be cleared up soon.
I came home and Skyped the FWiB. Had a good time.
