Post-op visit
May. 28th, 2021 10:08 pmI saw the surgeon today as planned,
mashfanficchick and zer mother picked me up at 9:45 and we got there a little after 10, but the pathology reports weren't ready so I don't know any more info than I did. However, she took the drain out, which is a very good thing, and she took the bulky dressings off and just left the stristrips. I go back on June 8th, to her and the oncologist both. I have to get a referral to the oncologist from my PCP though, so I have to call about that Tuesday after the long weekend.
After I left the doctor's I called the Kid and Oldest Brother, and then we went to a diner for brunch. I had Boston creme pancakes. Very good.
Then they brought me home and I had a session by phone with my therapist. And after that I Skyped the FWiB.
At 7:15 I had my Al-anon meeting, which went well. And aside from that I mostly just rested. At 9 I called Oldest Brother again. and then I called the Kid but she didn't pick up. So I played some solitaire but finally I downloaded a T Kingfisher book, The Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking to my Nook and started reading.
Then it was time to feed the pets and here I am.
The best thing about the drain being out is that it hurts less. I think that the end of the tube that was in me was sort of jabbing me inside sometimes. Now I have a much better range of pain free movement, and the movement that does cause pain is less painful.
Now I have a three day weekend to recover before I'm back at the branch Tuesday.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. The Kid will take me to the doctor's on the 8th (
mashfanficchick and zer mother can't.)
3. The drain is out.
4. My meetings and the people there.
5. Three day weekend.
6. Bed soon.
