Bad news from the oncologist

I need chemo.

I got up and called them to find out if the test results were in; they were. So mashfanficchick and zer mother picked me up and took me there. And the upshot was that the test values were such that chemo is indicated. I am also going to need a CAT scan, a bone scan, and some kind of heart test I never heard of. After that they arranged for me to see the surgeon again, because she is going to have to put a port in me.

I am going to lose my hair, the oncologist was frank about that. It will, of course, grow back, but I will lose it. The Kid is going to knit me head coverings to wear.

After the appointment we went to Chopt for lunch, and then back to mashfanficchick's place to do some work. That got cut short as a fuse kept blowing in her apartment. Meanwhile I ran my meeting on Zoom from zer computer. Which was only marginally successful.

After that we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and then Shop Rite. And then home where I fed the pets and am now doing this.

Appointments for Scans

I heard from the radiology place today about making appointments for the three scans that the oncologist wanted, a MAGU scan, and bone scan, and a CAT scan. I have the MAGU scan (which I had never heard of but which I now know is a scan to show how the heart is functioning) on Friday, and the other two in two weeks, on Friday. mashfanficchick and zer mother are taking me as usual. This is a new location, weirdly enough in the same building where zer father has his office.

I finished my Community Book List and made a fancy layout for it, which I'm proud of.

After work I called Oldest Brother, and then before I could Skype the FWiB, mashfanficchick invited me out to dinner at Uno and Carvel. So we did that. I called Oldest Brother again at 9:30 or so, and the Kid, but the Kid didn't pick up.

Came home and Skyped the FWiB very briefly. I wanted to see him because I didn't yeterday and because tiday is his birthday.

And now it's time for bed.
