Memorial for Aunt Helen
Jul. 25th, 2021 12:54 amGot up a bit later than I should have and dwadled too much getting ready, so I was almost late for the Kid to pick me up. But I made it. Unfortunately the traffic was so bad we were late anyway. I slipped in and used my phone to call Oldest Brother and put him on speaker so he could hear. It was not totally successful I fear.
But the ceremony was beautiful. Relatives present were John and Denise and Brianne, Laurie, Brian and Eric, Shannon and Ryan, and Betsy. And the Kid of course.![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
mashfanficchick and zer mother came too which was nice.
After the ceremony we went back to the house and had food, it was very good. We used the back yard which was nice. Eventually everyone left but family andmashfanficchick and zer mother, so we all decided to go to Jones Beach. We went to Field 6 and managed to get in a little time down by the water before the beachfront closed, and then we had a nice long walk along the boardwalk. mashfanficchick and zer mother had to leave before we took our walk, and so did Shannon and Ryan, and the Kid and Brianne stayed sitting and had a nice long conversation while the rest of us walked. Except Denise who fell asleep in the car.
At around 10:30 or so we went back to the house and hung out for awhile longer. We watched a video John made of Shannon and Ryan's wedding. That was the one in 2019 in Georgia that we went to. Very pretty wedding.
Finally it was pretty late so we left and the Kid brought me home. I very briefly Skyped the FWiB, just to say goodnight.
And now I'm going to go to bed.
