Exciting day
Oct. 2nd, 2022 10:25 pmSlept late, and then had breakfast and coffee. Then I cleaned the turtle tank, including adding two buckets of water and draining them again, in order to rinse out more dirt. It makes a difference. Cleaned the filter and added six buckets of water, so she has a good amount to swim in again.
Then I did what the Kid had suggested, I plugged my laptop into the TV with the HDMI cable. It didn't work. So I had proof that the problem was the TV itself, not the cable. Which I had suspected, but was hoping I was wrong.
So I went to Best Buy online, cause I have a Best Buy credit card, and I looked at 32" TVs. (That's the size of the old TV, and I like it) And I found that an Insignia Fire, which is Best Buy brand, and Amazon, was on sale for $99. To good to pass up. mashfanficchick and asked if they could help me get it home if I ordered online, cause I was afraid if I had it delivered it would get stolen.
So the answer was yes, so I ordered the TV on the Best Buy card. Then I showered and washed my hair, and dressed. They got here and we went to Best Buy. The box was small enough to fit in the car, no problem, so they brought me home, and we dropped off the TV and then went shopping.
Went to Target, Starbucks, Shop Rite, and Stop and Shop, and had a good time. Then they brought me home and I Skyped the FWiB, who had been out all day.
After that i called Middle Brother, and then had dinner. Then I started setting up the new TV.
The hardest part was getting the feet on so it could stand up! But I was successful with the aid of my trusty power screwdriver. Then I hooked the whole thing up and... it works! I have cable again!
And this is a smart TV, so I also have access to streaming services, and, um... other stuff I don't know all about. I'll have to learn by using I guess. Except that I hardly ever watch TV, but... well now who knows.
Anyway, I called [Bad username or unknown identity: mashfanficchick"] and let them know that it worked, and I called the Kid and told her everything. I also called Oldest brother three times during the day, and all is well.
Tomorrow I have to take the old TV out and get rid of it.
Last night i finsished reading The Fur Person, and it is absolutely delightful.
