Busier day than expected
Jun. 29th, 2023 10:15 pmTechnically I was late to work, but less than five minutes so I put down as on time and I doubt anyone noticed. I was late for the bus, but the bus was late too so I made it; but then there was really heavy traffic and that's why I was late so I feel justified.
There were more people in than I expected. I weeded a shelf of manga and graphic novels.
After work I came home and called Oldest Brother for the second time, then Skyped the FWiB.

mashfanficchick and zer mother got here. They were bringing over my spare phone charger that I left at zer place the other night, and my long-awaited Girl Scout cookies (which I have now eaten four of so far).
I got off with the FWiB and went out to their car and we discussed the situation with zer passport, which is that it is stuck in Dallas for some reason, and we have slightly more than a week till our trip to Amsterdam. So ze has called zer congress-person's office and enlisted their aid, and we are waiting. If it doesn't arrive in time, then we postpone the trip till my August vacation. Which would mean I wouldn't get up to the cottage this year, which would suck. But better than now getting to Amsterdam.
And ze called the Passport office, to demonstrate something about the phone tree, and to our surprise instead of getting cut off, got a message that there were still people working and the call wait was over two hours but since that was better than what happened the last times ze called (the call was cut off saying they weren't taking calls)so ze decided to wait and see what happened. I am waiting to hear from zer.
Anyway, we ended up going for dinner, I got a Popeye's chicken sandwich, which is always delicious. I called Middle Brother, who is fine, he had a pizza party which he enjoyed. And then they brought me home, and I called Oldest Brother for the third time, and then I called the Kid.
The first anniversary of their coffee shop is coming up on July 1st, and they are doing well, so that's good. For those not in the know, they are here: Kaleidoscope Coffee
So that's what's going on, I fed the pets and opened the Girl Scout cookies, the first box of Caramel Delights (which are better known as Samoas). And soon I'll be going to bed.
