More passport disaster
Jul. 1st, 2023 10:13 pmI was late again today, 10 minutes. For some reason we got bins today, which we never do on Saturday, so the first part of the morning was taken up with that.
Anyway, at some point in the afternoon,
mashfanficchick Facebook messaged. New passport disaster, they have apparently denied zer a passport. No reason why, supposedly a letter will come within 10 business days explaining. We are all stunned and shocked. I am hoping against hope that it's a mistake, that ze got the wrong message. Ze is going to try and call them Monday and see what happened.
I offered to take zer out for ice cream or something after work but ultimately ze decided not to. So I came home, called Oldest Brother for the second time, and then Skyped the FWiB. WE talked for a nice long time.
After we finished, I got my laundry together and then called Oldest Brother for the third time. Then I took it down. Good part, a young man carried it down the five steps in the front of the building for me. Bad part, I stood around waiting for service I don't know how long before the attendant finally figured out I need attention. But I finally got it dropped off, and came home and made dinner and ate.
I called the Kid three times over the course of the day, and she never picked up, though she did text me, so that's something. It was the one year anniversary of the shop today.
So I feel pretty bummed out about the whole passport thing, though I do have a bit of hope the whole mess is just a mistake, as I said. The whole thing is a comedy of errors, very surreal and Kafkaesque.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Fairly quiet day.
3. Tiger lilies blooming.
4. I saw a firefly last night.
5. Bed soon.
6. Clean laundry tomorrow.
