Misbegotten day
Jul. 27th, 2023 10:18 pmThe day started OK, I made it to work on time. I called Oldest Brother, who had thrown up again. Then I called the nursing staff and talked to them. They said the doctor would see Oldest Brother today and they would let me know when he had.
The boss scheduled me and two other staff members for 1-on-1s today. And for some reason, although it was on the google calendar correctly, my Decorate a Baseball Cap program didn't show up on my boss's calendar so it didn't end up on the schedule and she told me to cancel it because there weren't enough staff with the three 1-on-1s. So that was upsetting.

mashfanficchick. For reasons too long and complicated to go into but relating to zer change of gender and the State department's messing things up and not disclosing everything related to that, there will be no trip to Amsterdam this year. There was long in depth Facebook message discussion of this.
The upside of that of course is that I will go to the cottage, but now I have to scurry to make arrangements.
During lunch I called the Kid and she actually answered. So we talked and while we were talking the nursing home called and said Oldest Brother had been seen and put on an anti-emetic.
One thing I discussed with the boss in my 1-on-1 was the situation with the 3D printer. Candy and I investigated, It turns out that IT only downloaded the slasher app on one of the staff laptops, not both, and that was why I couldn't get it to work. We fiddled and got my name bubble wand project printing. So that was actually something good. But so damn frustrating about the other laptop.
The other good thing is that there was one kid who showed up to do the cap decorating. So I got her one of the caps and the fabric markers, and set her up in the teen section, and was able to count that as my program and didn't have to cancel.
Anyway, I went home after getting a bus right as it came into the stop. Then I called Oldest Brother... and he says no doctor saw him. So either he is confused or the nursing home lied to me about him being seen. Either is very upsetting. I will call the nursing home again tomorrow morning.
After that I Skyped the FWiB and that was good. While we were talking though I got a Facebook message from the wife on my GM. We were supposed to get together on Zoom at 8 to discuss my character sheet, but he wasn't feeling well and had to cancel. So that was disappointing.
Oh, one piece of good news, the FWiB saw his oncologist today and he is still in remission. Excellent.
After Skyping the FWiB I had dinner, and went to the bedroom to read the new Mercedes Lackey, Gryphon of Light. I calledmashfanficchick so see how ze was feeling, but ze didn't answer.
Fed the pets, and started writing here, all in all a frustrating upsetting day.

Edited to add: Forgot to say, called Middle Brother, he at least is fine. Had a pizza party last night, it was someone's birthday.
