Very busy day
Jan. 12th, 2024 10:56 pmGot up at 8:45 and had breakfast and coffee. Then I showered and washed my hair even though I didn't really have time to wash my hair, but I had to. because it was awfully dirty.

mashfanficchick and zer mother picked me up and we went over to the old nursing home to pick up Oldest Brother's things. But they weren't ready yet. We waited forawhile, then told them we'd be back, and went over to the new nursing home.
There I had to wait for awhile until the social worker was out of a meeting. Then we went up to her office, and did paperwork stuff, and I forgot to ask some of the questions I was meaning to ask. But I did remember to ask if he would have a phone in his room and found out no he wouldn't. So I am going to have to get him a cell phone.
Then I went down to see him. He's in a private room! In the old place he shared with three others. It's a lovely room, with a window and two chair and a dresser and closet. He looks better than the last time I saw him, and seemed more cogent too.
Anyway, I only stayed a little while, then went back to the car. We went to Dunkin' Donuts for coffee before going back to the old place.
They had the boxes of his stuff ready, but his tablet and dvd player were not there. Long story short, they've been "lost", and the administration is supposedly going to reimburse me for them. That's over $200! I am going to use it, assuming I get it, to defray the cost of a good cell phone for him. One of the ones meant for seniors with cognitive difficulties.
So we brought the three boxes of stuff back to the new place and brought it in,mashfanficchick helping me. Then I visited with him a bit longer, and then left.
We went to get lunch then, and ended up having poke. It was delicious.
After that we hung out in the car for awhile, and then they brought me back to my place. I read for about a half an hour in the new Penric and Desdemona Bujold novella, which I downloaded to my Nook last night.
Then I went to my Al-anon meeting. Got there just in time. It was very good, a new person, and the return of an old one. He brought donuts, and I am afraid I ate two.
Afterward the bus actually came on time and I got home pretty quickly. I Skyped the FWiB which is always good.
Then I fed the pets and had some cheese and crackers for a snack for dinner, and here I am.

2. Oldest Brother moved to somewhere else.

4. My meetings and the people there.
5. The Kid texted me.
6. New Penric and Desdemona.
