Got to work late after missing the bus by about three minutes. Sucks.
Tried calling the hospital to find out how Oldest Brother's doing during lunch, didn't get through so I don't know anything new.
Did the Teen Lounge. Got about 20, which is good but the boss got on my case about them being out of control (they were a bit, but nothing unusual) and there may be repercussions.
I discovered that the woman who, as my manager, 13 years ago, (if you've been following my journal that long), got me into serious trouble and basically almost got me fired for nothing, who has been safely in Manhattan since then and out of my chain of command, is going to be my boss's boss, starting the 11th. Thank God I'm retiring.
But the big thing is that when I got home there was a letter from Oldest Brother's nursing home (the new one) telling me that Medicaid is not paying to hold his bed in the home, and I can either pay $450 a day to hold a room for him while he's hospitalized, or take my chances that they have a room for him when he's discharged. Worse, this was dated the 22nd (I just got it today remember) and gave me 24 hours to call them. So I will start making some calls tomorrow to see what I should do.
So that all sucks big time.
On the brighter side, I Skyped the FWiB, though he has problems too, he wasn't able to see a doctor today after all. We talked til it was time for my Al-anon meeting, which was small but good.
Then I had dinner, and while I was making that the Kid called. I had texted her to have her call me to tell her everything. She didn't have any real advice except make calls, which, as I said, I will do tomorrow.
So that was my day, pretty wretched most of it.
