Some not so great news
Mar. 16th, 2024 10:04 pmStarted the day by going to my Al-anon meeting, in Bowne Park. It was the first in person meeting of the year. I ate breakfast here, Cheerios, rather than getting a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll. Then when I went to the diner afterward, that's what I got. I had fun, and got a ride part way home, from L.
Then the MTA let me down. I was waiting for the 13 bus, and two didn't come. The third one finally showed up, but as a result I didn't get home faster than![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
mashfanficchick and zer mother got there, and they had to come get me at the bus stop.
So they picked me up, and took me to my eye exam. And that's where things got not so good. I have been having an issue with my left eye, which has always been worse than my right eye. Well it's been much worse, and it turns out the reason is that I have a cataract in it that needs to be removed. The doctor said I'm a bit young for it, he thinks maybe the chemo had something to do with it, but it should be easily treated, and insurance should cover it.
So that was a bit depressing, but it's not too bad, I was afraid I was getting glaucoma, which my father had, and no, I'm fine in that regard. And my right eye has even gotten a little bit better. So in the scheme of things, this is minor, and can wait till I'm retired and have time.
So anyway, after that I picked out new glasses, which was probably a mistake cause I'll need a new prescription after the surgery, but I wanted new ones, so I did. Then I rejoined my friends and we went to Buffalo Wild Wings, but left shortly thereafter when we found out that they were out of ice and had no iced tea or lemonade. The kid, who I had texted, called me and we talked a little.
Then we went to Pokeworks and had poke, which was probably better for me anyway. So that was tasty and delicious.
After that, they brought me home and I Skyped the FWiB. We had a nice time. Then I fed the pets, and now I'm going to finish here and go read.
