Went to Duane Reade
Sep. 19th, 2024 10:21 pmGot up at 11 and had breakfast and coffee. Texted with
mashfanficchick and got some good news. Texted that to the Kid.
I puttered online for a bit. The cat scratching pad that I ordered from Petco was delivered and I set it up and sprinkled catnip on it. Oreo loved the catnip, and actually did a little bit of scratching on it, so I am hopeful he might use it.
Yesterday I put in a request to renew the prescription for one of my meds, and last night they put in the request for a refill to Duane Reade. This morning I got the notice it was ready. So I showered and dressed and went into Flushing to pick it up.
I took the 44 bus, got a seat luckily enough. There was a pretty long line at the pharmacy but it moved quickly. I also got a new toothbrush. Then I took the 25 bus home.
The rest of the day I read. I finished Thrones, Dominions, and started A Presumption of Death, which is the next of the Jill Patton Walsh continuations. They don't quite catch the flavor of the original, but they are good just as mysteries, so far.
I got on Thriftbooks, and ordered the non-Wimsey Dorothy Sayers novel, The Documents in the Case, and the last of the Walsh continuations, and then I was 92 cents short of free delivery, so I ordered the first of the Donald Strachey mysteries. I'll see if I like them.
I did a little cleaning in the bedroom. I am getting rid of the box my AC came in, I don't take the AC out of the window any more because I can't shift it alone, so the last few years I leave it in the window all winter. The box was just taking up room in my bedroom. And I may need that room for another bookcase eventually.
At 7 I Skyped the FWiB as usual. We talked until about 8:30, and after we got off I called Middle Brother. He had no news except that they closed up the swimming pool, and fall is almost here.
Then I had dinner and went and read more til pet feeding time.
Tomorrow I pack for my Rochester trip.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. I was able to get my prescription renewed and filled before this weekend.
3. Good books.
4. Middle Brother is fine.
5. Good news from
mashfanficchick
6. The Kid.
