Some medical news
Jan. 13th, 2025 10:37 pmI slept quite late today, til around 12, and then I got up and had breakfast and coffee.
I go a phone call, and let voice mail take it. They left a message, which turned out to be from Middle Brother's group home. I called back of course. He needs a cataract operation on his right eye and they need my permission. The doctor is going to call at some point and I have to give verbal permission. OK< no problem. The person from the group home thought I had been contacted about it already, and appologized when I said I hadn't.
Anyway, there is more medical news. I decided that since I hadn't heard anything about schedualing my surgery to have the port removed, I should contact someone. So I called the oncologist's office, and was leaving a request for the automatic callback to call me when I got another call coming through. So I took that one, and low and behold it was Long Island Jewish Hospital to make an appointment tomorrow for my presurgical screening.
So they only offered me two times, 5:30 or 6-something so I took 5:30. Then I texted the Kid, and RK to ask if either of them could take me, because it's an hour and 25 minutes by bus or $38 by Uber. The Kid already had an appointment to get her hair done and wouldn't be finished by 5:30, but RK said probably (he's off work Tuesdays). Later I confirmed with him yes.
So that's OK. So tomorrow I have to bring my insurance card, picture ID, and medications list to LIJ and probably get weighed, have my blood pressure taken and maybe an EKG to make sure I'm clear for surgery.
And I assume the surgery will be in the next couple of days. Not much sense to do the presurgical stuff with too much lead time.
Anyway, aside from that all I did todya was a lot of solitaire, putter on line, and of course at 7 Skype the FWiB. We talked for about an hour and 45 minutes which was lovely.
Oh one other thing I did today. I took down the Merry Christmas banner on my front door. I will start the rest of the undecorating soon.

mashfanficchick and we talked for awhile. Ze wasn't feeling to well today, but seemed better when we talked.
That's about all I did today.
