Oldest Brother
Jan. 16th, 2025 10:24 pmI slept late again, turned off the alarm at 10 and slept another almost two hours.
Then I got up and had breakfast and coffee, and then showered and dressed. And went out to see Oldest Brother.
When I had gotten just halfway down my block, my phone rang. It was the Kid. In some distress, and in need of some assistance which I was able to provide. I said I loved her and she said she loved me too, so although I'm sure she's still angry at me, I feel better.
I continued to the nursing home and saw Oldest Brother. He was still congested, but much better. They had gotten rid of the awful oral thrush as well. And they are going to give him a pneumonia vaccine so hopefully he won't get this sick again.
I stayed for an hour, and went home. I puttered around online for awhile, and then decided to try something, to see if despite my broken computer case the cd/dvd drive still works. I tried burning Gay Purr-ee from my computer to a cd. Sadly, the file was too big, but I learned it would work, so I decided to try getting the Clancy Brothers album, Sing for the Sea, that Middle Brother wants, on a cd.
So first I tried downloading it from Youtube, which was a flop, even though I took a trial membership of Youtube Prime. Turns out that you can't have access to the files that you download. They are encoded on your computer and you can only play them when you are in the youtube app. So I gave up on that and cancelled the trial membership.
So instead I bought the mp3 from Amazon, for $9.99, and, after much trial and error, I think I have that downloaded to a cd. I will try and make sure it worked.
After that I Skyped the FWiB, and we talked til past 8:30. At 8:30 of course I took a break and called Middle Brother. He is fine, he went to Target this morning, and also had some blood tests today. He said it didn't hurt, which is good.
Then finished talking to the FWiB and had dinner. Then I went and lay down on the bed, which is difficult right now as I have a nasty backache. I called![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
mashfanficchick but ze didn't answer so I left a message.
That was the day, and all there is to say.

Edited to add: Forgot to mention that this morning started with a call from Northwell Health to have me pay over the phone for the copay for my port removal surgery. So I did that, $150.
