And of course the, God help us, inauguration day.
Anyway, I got up somewhat after 10 and had breakfast and coffee. I texted
mashfanficchick to find out if we were getting together today for Lonestar, and I puttered online.
By 1 I knew we weren't so I got on to matsir's Zoom watch, in time to catch the last 5 minutes of Barbie. After that we watched Maya Angelou read Still We Rise, Hamilton, Martin Luther King's I have a Dream speech, and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, non-stop. Hamilton was amazing, and the other things were inspiring.
After Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, I Skyped the FWiB. We only talked to 7:50 and then I got set up for watching Lonestar. That meant moving the TV and bringing out a folding chair because the Christmas tree blocks the TV from the couch. Anyway, it was a very good episode.
mashfanficchick and I called each other during the commercials.
After that I had dinner and then went to the bedroom. I texted the Kid and she says they are back from Arisia.
About the inauguration I will say only one thing. I hear he did not put his hand on the Bible. Although that isn't necessary (though I'm sure if a Democrat neglected it, there would be frenzy), it is customary. I don't really think he avoided it because either it or he would burst into flames at the touch, but hey you never know.
There's something going on in the apartment across the lobby from me, I saw four firemen/EMTs at their door with a flashlight looking in, and they said an ambulance was here. I hope everything is OK. I don't know them at all though, so I guess I'll never know.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB
2. The Kid answered my text.
3. Good TV.

5. Matsir's Zoom today.
