It's going to be soon

They called from the nursing home today, and called, and called. Starting by filling me in on his condition, and wanting me to authorize discontinuing feeding. Because he's starting to shut down and that's it. So after the hospice nurse said it would be the right thing to do, I agreed. So the end will be pretty soon now.

I called the Kid and we had a conversation about it. She's pretty broken up. We also made plans for celebrating Mother's Day later, and her birthday.

I went to see Oldest Brother today, and he was pretty bad, didn't respond at all to me. I stayed for half an hour, that was all I could take.

Then I went to see mashfanficchick. While I was there I called the funeral home and did some paperwork over the phone. I have an appointment Friday to go in and sign papers.

Then we watched the Mets game, and that went very well. We won 7 -1 and I felt a little more cheerful.

My psychiatrist called and that was a good thing.

We went out and had dinner after that, poke, from Kiss Fish. We walked there, and then took the food to the park and ate. Then we went back by bus and had ice cream at Baskin and Robbins. Then I took the bus home.

Got here and Teamed the FWiB. And after we finished talking, I went through my electronics and found a flash drive that I could put the mp3s of Sing of the Sea on, to have mashfanficchick's friend Tess put it on cd. And then I can give the cd to Middle Brother and that will be done!

Getting late now. Tomorrow I have my initial consultation with the surgeon abut my cataract surgery.

I didn't go to my D&D game tonight, and since two other people weren't going, they canceled it so I didn't miss anything But I just didn't feel up to it tonight.

Went to the eye surgeon today

Got up at 10 after having trouble sleeping. Breakfasted, coffeed, showered and dressed, and then hung out puttering until it was time to leave for the eye surgeon.

I was late getting out though because I forgot something and went back. So I missed a bus and was almost late. Finally did make it on time though, The place was easy to find, and I didn't have to wait long.

The upshot of the exam and consultation is that my right eye is very good, but I do have a large cataract in my left eye. My insurance covers the surgery, but not laser surgery, and only standard lenses. But that's good enough. So I have an appointment to come back June 9th and then we'll discuss the surgery and plans.

After I left the surgeons's I called mashfanficchick and told zer I was on my way. I got to her a bit before 5:00 and we hung out. At about 7:15 I Teamed the FWiB from my phone and we talked til it was time for 911.

We called in pho for dinner, and that was delicious.

At 8:30 I called Middle Brother. I didn't want to tell him how bad Oldest Brother is but I did tell him he wasn't doing well. He went to a music yesterday and then had dinner at McDonald's which made him happy.

At 9:00 is was time for Dr. Odyssey, and after that Will Trent on Hulu.

And now it's time for bed. Tomorrow I have the macabre duty of arranging things at the funeral home. mashfanficchick is going with me so that's why I'm staying over tonight.
