Mother's Day

I slept better last night, but still woke up frequently and had trouble getting back to sleep. So I slept til almost 2:00.

I was awake earlier than that though, had a call from Robyn at the funeral home, to ask about Oldest Brother's bracelet, the one the Kid made for his birthday. So I called the Kid and asked her, she said to leave it on and end it with him. Then I went back to sleep.

Finally we got up, I showered and dressed, and we went out for coffee and brunch at a bagel place. Then we went to Forest Park, where I just hung out enjoying the weather, and mashfanficchick worked on trying to get a photo ready to print to use in the service.

Cliff called me while we were there, it's OK, he will be able to make it to the service. We talked about Oldest Brother for awhile. Almost immediately after I got off that call, John Ivon called and we talked. He was literally in tears.

RK picked us up at the park, and we went to my apartment where I packed the clothes I want to wear Tuesday, and jewelry for then, Mom's tetra drachma necklace, and her Kwan Yin broach. T also packed my D&D stuff, and clothes to wear for the next few days, and my computer. I fed the pets too.

We went Shop Rite and did a lot of shopping, then BJ's and only a little. I called Middle Brother, he's fine. Then we went to California Pizza Kitchen to get food for us and RK. We went to RK's place to eat. We watched an episode of Red Dwarf while we ate.

RK drove us back to mashfanficchick's place and I Teamed the FWiB while mashfanficchick polished the tetra drachma, and Kwan Yin.

Then I got in my nightgown, and set up my computer and started here.

Edited to add: I forgot to say, the Kid called me later to say Happy Mother's Day. We are going to celebrate Mother's Day later right now she says. and she's right, that we would just sit around and look at each other, and be grim.

Didn't sleep well again

Woke up at 8:30ish with a phone call from the funeral parlor, just checking that everything was OK. Then almost immediately afterward I got a call from the social worker in the nursing home who just wanted to give her condolences.

After that I couldn't get back to sleep so at 10:00 I got up and had coffee and breakfast.

Then I puttered on the computer until mashfanficchick got up. At which point we put a load of my laundry on in the laundry room, including the black jeans I am going to wear tomorrow, and my regular jeans that I've been wearing for a while now..

After that was done I took a shower and dressed, and we fiddled with the computer and the microphone and speakers that we brought, trying to get the Zoom set up. Finally we accomplished what we wanted without the speakers and microphone, so that's OK. I got phone calls from the hospice social worker, also offering her condolences, and S from Tuesday nights, who is coming tomorrow.

Then we went to CVS and picked up the pictures that mashfanficchick sent to them last night. They came out very nice. They are for the service tomorrow. I also got black duck tape and taped the computer to hold it together where it is falling apart.

We got back here and mashfanficchick took a nap, and I puttered on the computer until it was time to Teams the FWiB.

We had a nice time, and then after we got off, in awhile mashfanficchick got up and we had dinner, a rotisserie chicken from BJs, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

We put the pictures in the frames that we had for them, and then Cliff called. He has made it to Queens, but not to the motel yet. mashfanficchick sent him directions, and I hope that he's on the way.
