Computer stuff

I had therapy this morning, before breakfast or coffee, but it was OK. Then I got the notice that my new computer had been delivered! So I padded out to the lobby and sure enough there it was.

I brought it in and then had breakfast and coffee, and then I opened the box. Smaller than I expected but perfectly functional.

I got out the folding table I got from mashfanficchick and set up the new computer on that and plugged it in.

Then I turned on the old computer, and spent the rest of the afternoon alternating between putting my desired apps on the new computer, and saving stuff from the old one to my external hard drive. I moved 991 pictures from the old computer to the hard drive, though I'm sure some of those are already on the hard drive...

Anyway, I did that til 4 something, when I finally stopped and took a shower and dressed, and got ready to go to my Al-anon meeting in the Bronx.

I made it there faster than I expected, so after having my pizza for dinner I went to the bank and took out money and walked via the back street to the church, which is quieter and more pleasant than the major roads.

The meeting was very good, and M drove me to the bus stop and waite with me til 9:00

Came home and Teamed the FWiB on the new computer. I had to fiddle til I got the sound coming through my headset, but I finally did. We talked for about 45 minutes, then got off.

I fed the pets, and then started with the new computer and my usual reading sites. I think everything is all set now.

mashfanficchick messaged me with some cute pictures from zer trip.

I am quite happy with the new computer! The only thing I think I have to do is get it hooked up to the printer.
