Meeting night

silver_chipmunkThe day went pretty well, I did the laptop computer program with the teens, it was OK.
After work, in a pleasant surprise, the FWiB remembered that this was my meeting night and called me at a little after 6 rather than 7 as he had said yesterday. There is still the annoying buzz and hum on his phone, he really needs a new one. But by the end of the conversation it had cleared up, I assume something loose jiggled into place. We had a nice conversation despite the buzz. He starts his chemo tomorrow (for my new readers, he has been diagnosed with non-Hodgekin's lymphoma) so if you're a praying person say one for that.
One thing I find funny and a bit sweet, his brother brought him a copy of Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen, which he has read from the library but didn't own. And how did his brother know to get it for him? Me, asking him several times if he (the brother) knew if he (the FWiB) had gotten a copy since it came out, back during the time we were out of touch. Not that I was ever mentioned I'm sure. I doubt his sisters know about me, and I'm sure his brother wouldn't mention me. There are reasons for this, and I don't mind. I'm just pleased his brother got it for him.
Anyway, my meeting was good, we actually had three people tonight. The topic was decision making, which is something I have to work on. Got a ride home as usual.
Something I forgot to mention yesterday, the top of the penguin cookie jar I keep by the door for my change, Peter Penguin I call him, got knocked off, and a big chunk broke off. But it was fixable, and I did that last night after I got my laundry from the laundromat, which was another thing I forgot to mention.

I thought they would be fun to collect, but given my track record breaking candy dishes (with lids), I figure I should stay away from them. Ha. I'm glad you were able to fix the the top. I'm assuming it was a solid, clean break?
