All day meeting

silver_chipmunkSo I went to the meeting about plans for the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, which was pretty interesting. It started with a couple of groups presenting information, and the plans My Employers have for programming and suchlike for the upcoming months leading to the anniversary. And then we had lunch, which was provided by My Employers(!) and was pretty good, sandwiches, and cookies for dessert, and Boylan's soda to drink. Then we broke into smaller groups based on our specialty, and discussed more specific ideas. My favorite idea for teens, drag queen poetry reading. Like drag queen storytime, but for older kids. I hope it can come about.
Anyway, they let us go home early, so I went home, and got bubble tea in Flushing.
Came home and checked out the e-mail from the editor of the Outside In books. He said he was happy to have me aboard, gave me a deadline of four weeks, and told me where to find the list of Kolchak episodes that were still available. I decided to take Horror in the Heights, the one about the rakshasa. I found my Kiolchak dvds, and tomorrow I shall be reviewing the episode and taking notes. I have already decided to call the essay "Is That a Crossbow in Your Pocket, or Are You Just happy to See Me?" 800 to 1000 words, should be OK to write.
After that I Skyped the FWiB. He is doing well. We had a nice long talk.
Good news, tentatively, about Aunt Helen. She is dong very well, and pending the results of some tests, they are letting her go home tomorrow. I called the Kid and told her on voicemail, but she didn't answer.
Free day tomorrow, thank goodness. I have had three days now in a row of getting up early, and I want to sleep late for a change!
