Very tired
Apr. 30th, 2019 10:20 pmSince I was up til 2:00 am this morning it was hard to pry myself out of bed at 7:30, but I did it, and made it to work on time. I am proud.
Work was fairly quiet, though the kids are back. I did the laptop program, got around 16, give or take. I bid on something through shopgoodwill.com, and I won it.
After work Skyped the FWiB, in Flushing I went to Burger King for dinner because the halal cart has moved. Apparently there was some zoning law put into effect or something. I don't know details.
Then went to my meeting, which was really good tonight.
Now waiting for Oldest Brother to call. He has a new work location and new hours.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. My meetings and the people at them.
3. The rain this morning stopped.
4. Chocolate eggs.
5. Oldest Brother's new hours mean more money.
6. Goodwill auctions.

Date: 2019-05-02 12:44 am (UTC)What kind of meetings are you going to, and what is FWiB? I feel a bit lost reading your entries because we've only recently added one another, so questions have to be asked for my curiosity.
I didn't know Goodwill had auctions! I knew they already sell books on Amazon for cheap, but this looks more interesting. You know, I don't think I've ever been to a Goodwill, but I do frequent the Civitan thrift store in town.

Date: 2019-05-02 02:38 am (UTC)I go to Al-anon meetings. That's the 12-step program for friends and family of alcoholics. I've been going for 23 years now, and it has helped me greatly.
FWiB stands for Friend With Benefits. He's an old friend (met him in 1987, got to be friends in aprox. 1996). Shortly after my husband left me in 2009, he told me his wife, who I gather is naturally an asexual, had, some years before, put her foot down and said no more sex. He said he wasn't going to live like a monk, and got her permission to discreetly see someone as long as he was careful, and didn't shove it in her face. And he asked me if I was interested. Since I'd always had a bit of a crush on him, I said yes, and we had a mutually satisfying setup, meeting about once a month.
Then things got complicated in his life, and without going into the whole story, he and his wife ended up moving to Ohio where he proceeded to almost drink himself to death, and finally ended up in a nursing home about 4 years ago. He hasn't had anything to drink since he entered the home, and says he'll never drink again, (but of course I still worry). I visited him last year for a week, and, as you may have noticed we Skype almost every day. We also keep up a running e-mail correspondence during the day.
It's an odd relationship, but it's mine.
You can find the Goodwill auctions at Shopgoodwill.com. They have a lot of nice things. My daughter told me about them.

Hey, nothing wrong with that! I think it's cool that you communicate a lot during the day. It sounds sweet and loving to me.
I'll have to check that site out. I doubt I can buy anything, as my mother is my payee, and I'm horrible with money. The world can come to an end with me just spending two dollars. XD

Date: 2019-05-03 02:46 am (UTC)Thanks, I'm glad you aren't shocked or anything funky.
It's fun just browsing the auctions on the Goodwill site, if nothing else.
