Day before Mother's Day
May. 11th, 2019 10:15 pmGot up in time to make it to my Saturday morning meeting. Stopped at the bagel place for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll, and coffee. Made it to the meeting on time for Beginners.
Afterward I came home. Texted
mashfanficchick to see if there was anything going on today; she has a cold too so there wasn't.
Skyped the FWiB, which was good as always. After that I pittered on the computer and finally went into the bedroom to read and take a nap.
Took a nice long nap, which has made my cold feel much better. Then took my laundry down to the laundromat and bought some milk and cereal for breakfast tomorrow.
Came home, puttered on the computer some more, had dinner, then went and lay down for awhile. Read a bit, not much, petted Sybil who decided to join me on the bed for a change.
Called Oldest Brother, and that's the whole day.
Looking forward to seeing the Kid tomorrow. I hope she doesn't put it off til a ridiculously late time tomorrow. She is out tonight celebrating her birthday, and that means she'll be sleeping late tomorrow.
Mother's Day is always a bit fraught, especially since my mother died. Our relationship was so problematic... I struggle to remember the best of her, and at the same time come to grips with my memories of the worst parts of her. I'm glad that my relationship with the Kid is better than mine with my mother was.
Gratitude List:
1. The FWiB.
2. Seeing the Kid tomorrow.
3. My meetings and the people there.
4. Cold is better.
5. Good books.
6. Clementines.
