Shopping day

silver_chipmunkSlept til a reasonable hour, then got up and ate breakfast, had coffee, and Skyped the FWiB. He has a transition meeting tomorrow, and although he's moving regardless, things couold still go wrong so keep your fingers crossed.
After we Skyped, I showered and dressed and puttered on the computer while I waited formashfanficchick and her mother to pick me up. First we went to drop her off at her father's place, he's just out of the hospital and she wanted to see him. So while she visited, her mother and I went to Starbucks, had drinks, and hung out. I read the Jim Butcher steampunk book, The Aereonaut's Windlass, which is ok, I'm enjoying it, but it's a bit, I don't know, twee maybe? Then she texted she was done with her visit so we went and picked her up.
We went to Roosevelt Field and ate in the food court. I had poke! They have a poke place! Then we started out in search of shoes. I found a pair, which were on a very good sale, and then I applied and got a Penny's charge card which got me a discount on my purchase. I don't know why I got another charge card I'll probably never use (because how often do I go to Roosevelt Field, and that's the only Penny's I know around.) but I did.
The Kid called, we had a short but nice conversation.
There was a really bad accident on Meadowbrook Parkway near the mall, and there were still traffic tie ups related to it when we left, so we took a rather round-about way to get back to the city. We went to Target, and ended up buying more than I intended, but not too much that I didn't actually need.
And then it was time to come back here. So they dropped me off and now I am waiting for Oldest Brother to call.
