Day with friends

silver_chipmunkGot up and breakfasted and coffeed. Then got in touch with mashfanficchick, and she said they'd be by to pick me up at 2:00. So I showered and dressed, and they picked me up.
We had lunch at Qdoba. That's where we were when we heard about Kobe Bryant dying. That was a shocker, though I admit I don't know very much about him.
Then we went to Long Island to Roosevelt Field. First thing, we stopped at Godiva and picked up our monthly free piece of chocolate. Then,mashfanficchick's mother needs to replace her phone so we went to the Verizon store there. However, it turned out they didn't have what she wanted, so we tried to make it to another Verizon store by 6, but didn't make it. Instead we went to Starbucks and had refreshments.
After that we went back to Roosevelt Field and went to the Apple store so she could get some cables, and then we went to Papyrus. Because Papyrus is going out of business, which is sad, and everything in the stores is on sale 20% off. So I got a card for Oldest Brother's birthday, and a hummingbird magnet for Aunt Helen's birthday.
Then we came back to Queens and couldn't decide what to do. We ended up getting dinner at Metro Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant. Very tasty, and appropriate for Lunar New Year.
And then they brought me home and I Skyped the FWiB. And just after I got off, the Kid called, the first i had heard from her since she called at 1:14 am, waking me out of a sound sleep. So I talked to her, and comforted her and calmed her down, and finally she got off to eat ice cream.
And that was my day.
