Tiring day

silver_chipmunkI got up early to make the meeting I was supposed to go to. It was supposed to be at one branch. I made it to the bus on time, stopping first at the bagel place for coffee. Then to the subway where I got the 7 train to Grand Central, and changed to the 4. The 4 to Mosholu Parkway in the Bronx, where I changed to the Bx 1. The Bx 1 to I forget where, where I started walking. And had almost got to the branch when I passed a woman who said "hey, you work for the library, right?" Ytah. "You going to the YA meeting?" Yeah. "There's some sort of heating problem at the branch, it's been changed to a different one." !!!
So I followed her to the other branch, via another bus, and we actually got there not very late. But I had no idea how to get back to my own branch afterward. I had carefully printed out directions to get back from the original location, but they were useless. So... I used my phone! Yes, I have figured out how to use google maps to navigate the mass transit system. So I took one bus a long way to where I transferred to the 50. Which due to not being able to find the stop immediately, I missed, and had to wait a Really Long Time in the cold for the next one.
But I got back to my own branch, and all was well.
Didn't go out for Carvel becausemashfanficchick has a cold. Was going to Skype the FWiB, the Kid started texting me. SoI put of Skyping, and then when I did try, couldn't get through. Came back home, and Skyped from here and all was well.
After that I got my laundry together, and brought it down to the laundromat. And then I had dinner, puttered on the computer, and then went and laid down til it was time to feed the pets.
So I am worn out, between getting up early, all the hassle of the travel to and fro, and hauling 21 lbs of laundry around. Looking forward to bed!
