Day 22: Oldest Brother

silver_chipmunkLast night when Oldest Brother called, he was sick. Dry hacking cough, wheezy breath, snuffly, and worst of all, mentally kind of fuzzy. I told him to go to the doctor today, and he promised he would.
Today, I did a training for work (google calendar), and Skyped the FWiB, waiting to hear from him and calling him to see if he had gone. No answer, no calls.
Finally he answered, and I'm not going to bother telling this in chronological order, it ended with me and the Kid (all praise to her) convincing him that. since it was too late to get to an urgent care, he needed to go to the hospital ER. Because he was a lot worse sounding, and I'm pretty sure it's covid. He allowed himself to be convinced, thank God, and was going to drive himself but the car wouldn't start. He thinks he left the lights on last night and drained the battery. Like I said, mentally fuzzy.
So I called an ambulance. They took him to the hospital, the closest one to him. The last I spoke to him, he was there. Haven't heard since, but I'm sure they're at least keeping him over night.
So that was my day, spent calling him, the Kid, and John and Denise.
The only other thing of note is that Sybil decided for the first time since she started living in the bedroom to come out on her own and into the kitchen where she perched on top of the cabinets. So I shut Oreo in the bedroom so he wouldn't follow her up there and start a fight. She stayed there til the cats dinner time and I had to coax her down. Cats. Go figure.
